Volksplane VP-1 1:2.5 kit

The construction of the Volksplane VP-1 (also called Evans VP-1) goes back to the initiative of the Californian William Evans in the late 1960s. He wanted to create an aircraft that anyone can build with simple means in order to be able to indulge in aviation. To this day, he sells the blueprints of his construction all over the world, and it is estimated that several tens of thousands of Volksplanes have been built. A double seat version VP-2 did not get beyond the prototype status.

The 1: 2.5 scale model was designed by Philipp Gardemin according to the original plans. All dimensions have been reduced exactly and true to scale. The details of the design and construction as well as the choice of materials and thicknesses have been adopted almost completely. The result was an impressive and robust large model in wood construction, which convinces with its problem-free flight characteristics and thus enables an easy entry into the scene of prototypical large models.

The model can be motorized with petrol engines from about 33ccm or powerful electric drives from 8s-Lipo or Lion. The Saito FG57TS boxer engine (order no. 7100/75) achieves maximum prototypical accuracy. There are no limits to the individual expansion of the model beyond the scope of the kit, corresponding models can easily be found by doing an Internet search.
